Knowt is a note-and-study platform with a flashcard focus and a shared library. Ace the Test has neither notes nor a library: it is a question generator with a study-session engine attached.
So the deciding question is what you want the tool to hold. If you want your notes and your study material to live in one place, a note-first platform fits better. If your notes already live somewhere you are happy with — a notebook, OneNote, Notion, a folder of PDFs — and what is missing is the questions, that is the gap this fills.
What is genuinely different here is the explanation on every question and the deliberate distractor design: roughly 30% of items are built to catch shallow recall through near-synonyms, conditionals, partial truths and negation. That is the part that makes a wrong answer informative rather than just wrong.

Can I migrate my notes across?
There is no direct import. Export your notes as PDF or plain text and upload them — that is the supported path and it takes about a minute.
Does Ace the Test store my notes as notes?
It stores the files you upload as study materials so quizzes can be generated from them. It is not a note editor and does not try to be one.
Is it free to try?
Yes. The free plan needs no card: 5 materials, 5 quiz sets, 10 questions per quiz, with explanations and history included.
